I can't find a list of Ford axle code suffixes. I've read that "2" means front limited slip. Currently I'm trying to find out what "19N" is. I know 19 is the 3.55 Open rear. What does the "N" suffix mean?
EDIT: I just heard from a Ford mechanic I e-mailed on Sunday and he couldn't figure out what it was. Probably just have to open the diff at the yard to find out.

Try here www.drivetrain.com. This may shed some light on your drivetrain.
Like pretty much all the other sites, they only cover the rear axle code. They don't even mention the suffix which is the front axle code. Hanyes pointes it out, but of course doesn't say what the options are. I can't even find axle codes in my Chiltons where they show a door decal.
This is only rear axle codes. No front axle codes.
Even less rear axle codes and also no mention of front axle codes.
Not that I don't appriciate the help, but I ran google searches for hours and saw a lot of these pages until I found out for sure the suffix was a front axle code. I'll post once I look in the diff and determine what the "N" might mean.
