Their website "alleges" they have (a) version(s) for Win 8, but maybe the site is getting ready for the release.
One thing is iron-clad, though... Win 8.1 is incompatible with the AE hardware. There's no rescue in sight on that one.

Win 7 compatibility mode allows you to run a program in an older version of Win. Right click the program, properties, compatibility, compatibility mode. Wonder if it would work in Win 8 by running as/in Win 7?
