Calling AE users. Having a hard time connecting.
Alright,
Windows 8, ford enhanced package. Hook up the obd connector and get this is what the connector looks like.

This is what I get when I open the AE software

If I press okay after the above pic the software opens up. Then if I push connect I get the next two videos.

I have my settings set like tugly said to do in his threads. Auto connect off and such. I am at a loss. Please let me know if it's operator error(strong possibility) or a setting or what.

What connector is that with the fancy lights ? the one that is plugged into the obdport? mine isn't like that. Is it an old one or a newer one? Mine is about 3 years old.
Maybe you have some USB driver issue. Does AE have a support page with possibly a drivers download section?

Just went through the same thing this morning when changing laptops. If you are using windows 8 it will not work. The folks at AE told me this mooring that they will release a new update for Windows 8 in one to two weeks.

Well that is some crap. Windows 8 has been out for how long now? Over a year?

My disc says 11/13 version. That should be way new enough!!

I am not even close to understanding the whole computer thing. But I got AE last fall and my connecting cord looks identical to yours and mine hooks up fine. I always thought that box with lights was the security dongle...apparently not.
