Does your truck have a tranny cooler? I would suggest checking the trans fluid the next time you drive the truck. Since the fluid expands as is becomes hot it's possible that it got too hot and blew the excess out. Which would now mean you could and probably are low. If the level is all good and right where it should be then you'll know that it is infact just the oil from the engine. And I might suggest fixing at least that leak. Unless you are planning on just doing a complete teardown and rebuild soon anyway.

My truck does indeed have a tranny cooler. To my knowledge it works but...the lines going to it are kindy shady...ie: patched with rubber hose in a few spots. So yes, I will check into the trans fluid level.
As for the engine/leak issue, I plan to replace that engine (again!) come this summertime so I was kinda putting it off...
