I ordered a 270 xp unit from them a couple weeks ago and it should be here this week. I have been searching for information on wireing for this thing. I understand I should upgrade the cable from the alt to the battery but would like a size of wire I should be looking at. I also read something about the big 3 wire upgrade or something like that. could someone elaborate on this for me also pictures would help point to where the cables were ran to.
I think its perfect timing because I finished my engine and fired it up Saturday. after I returned my batteries back to ford for warrenty replacement. so new batts, new alt, great running engine now. all at one time. I hope it will all last for a long time. I think I have a great base now.
You are going to like the 270xp.
I just put one on about 2 weeks ago and my truck is running so good with it.
When I put on my 220amp mean green alt 3 years ago I upgraded all the bat. cables to 2/0.

Very nice work on the cables....looks like something I would make. (Except I woulda used black heat shrink on the negative cable. )
i ordered online. and when I placed the order I didn't think about upgrading the cables. then when I did think about it which was after it shopped I looked on the site and it said they was out of stock on the cable kits. so I figured I could come up with something. ill spend some time on the .com and see what I can find.
NiceWorkTruck - How are you liking the DieHard Platinum? It looks like I will be battery shopping very soon; I have the Ford batteries in my truck and one of them is bad. They are right at three years old, so I thought Ford was going to warranty them (3 year free replacement, 100mo pro-rate). Turns out they only warranty them if you paid for them. The particular batteries I have were gotten when the last set went bad after two years. Anyhow, if I'm going to have to pay for batteries, I'd like to get good ones and not another set of Ford batteries that will crap out right between two and three years.

Let me know!
I love them.
They have been in for almost 3 years and still going strong. I went through 2 sets of Motorcrafts that lasted 2 years each set.
My truck has never started as good as it does with the Diehards.
They are just pricey.
