There is a hose that goes into the air intake tubing, I know mine is wallowed out, never traced it, but bet that is it, because that is about where the piece goes, at the throttle body.
remind me to shoot the idiot who came up with the design for the front sway bar bushing in the i-beam .... got the old rubber out ..left the metal bushing part in .. burnt out the little parts of the rubber ... then squished in some energy suspension bushings as the old wones were egg shaped to the extreem .. i dont even think the sway bar up front was even working lol...... took my 3 hours ..it should have taken one ... *******s ... well the van is done for now ...
Yeah that sway bar stabbing through the I-Beams is a real PITA when renewing those horrible OEM bushings. So far I've done this three times on different E250's, its not so bad with a bit of experience.
I did notice with new bushings the sway bar did work a bit better. Still a bit undersized for my tastes but when working properly its a good feature.
alrighty ..well ill post pics soon as i upload them but i found the knock .... a bent rod .. i took the heads off and saw nothing .. took the oil pan off and then got all the rest of the crap out of there( oil and other liquid that smelled like ickyness) ... then i started singing the song which one of these things is not like the other.. then i found it .. a slightly bent rod ...
yeah .. the valve covers can be split up . .but if you look at the pic one of the pcv valves is broken off so one would have to skilfully cut out the plastic and rubber and then install a rubber o ring/ grommet and then a universal pcv .. and they go for $150 each new so the price there together is like saying hey come buy this asap .. all the other prices i just went to ebay and priced them and then took a random amount off
on the other hand it was put to a vote and the block is being turned into a coffee table lol
there is no signs of collant leak at all... everything was looking fine ... everything is coverd in oil.... no worn spots.. the 250,000 mile motor still has the crosshoned patern still on the cylinder walls ... all i know is i pard the van for a week and started it up and it was instantly knocking .. but now that you say this and i get to thinking .. there was a time where it was hard to start/// had a hard spot when starting .. and there was the large white cloud .. but it didnt smell like coolant it just smelled like condensation .... perhaps it did hydro lock lol .. who know .. no one will really know
