This is a common problem and is addressed by TSB 15-0061. Cost should be nowhere near $600
70f100longbed- thanks for the TSB, this is the EXACT thing Crystal should be supplying on this thread...she supposedly works for Ford, why does she act as though every poster with the same problem is a mystery to her?? After a few she should have been proactive and dug to the bottom of this problem...we shoukd have heard from her with the solution years ago ...
I think Crystal is long gone. Prob had too many PMs lol
70f100longbed - her position on the discussion board acting between us and FoMoCo could have been a wonderful asset, but in my opinion it was a grand failure...thanks for the update.
My wipers are not working properly in intermittent positions and sometimes will not shut off. The problem is getting worse and is very annoying.
Sometimes when the wipers are turned off, they still run in the lowest intermittent setting. Sometimes when in any of the intermittent settings, the wipers stay on in the lower constant setting.
Any help would be appreciated.

I had the same problem with my 2012 Explorer. Ford has a Service Bulletin on this. The fix is to replace the entire switch assembly. The cost of the part is only $37.13 and only available from Ford. 9I was shocked on how cheap this ford part was) My local garage charged $75.00 to do the replacement. A lot better than the $400-$600 others spent to get this fixed.

I'm having the same problem with my 2012 Ford Explorer. It started out as only every now and then and today I can't get them to turn off. Pretty funny driving down the road when it's 89 degrees and sunny and the wipers are going. I called the dealer and am waiting to hear back. Did you ever get yours repaired, and if so what was it?

I had my local garage (not dealer) repair this for about $130.00 The part was $37.00 and is only available from ford. The part (switch) is the entire assembly. I was shocked the cost of the part was so cheap. I guess Ford realizes it is a defective part and is cutting us a break.
