My rear wiper will not work. The washerfluid comes out and you can hear some kind of a noise when you try to turn the wiper on but nothing happens. It does not work, please help. Someone tell me how to fix it please. Thanks.
I have the same problem and the dealer has never heard of this problem. My wiper is intermittent. When it stops working, I just turn it on high and leave it on. Get out and go to the wiper and bang it untill it turns on. You dont have to hit it real hard but just keep hitting it untill it turns on. It usually takes around 5-15 hits for mine. Hope this helps.
If your dealer said he never heard of intermittent wiper inop on an explorer he is lieing to beat hell. This is an extremely well known problem with both explorers and expeditions. Replace the motor.
Thanks attackdog! Your tip worked great - hit the area twice with a rubber mallet and its been working fine since. I wonder if this is what the wonderful techs down at my dealership did when I took it to them the first time? Something tells me YES!

It never pays to do something like that. You end up doing the job over again for free. 12 month 12000 mile warranty includes the labor. Then if it gets taken to a different dealer and they find you didnt do the repair, they do the repair and charge it all back to your dealership. Then tech gets fired. Not worth losing a well paying job and career.

Homer, normally I would agree with you however this particular problem warranted 5 different trips to the dealer. 2 of those visits under warranty, the other 3 payable out of my pocket. Sorry, but the ol' rubber mallet trick was cheap, lasted longer than the previous 5 repairs, and costs everyone less.
I am not suggesting that the dealer actually did hit it to get it going, but I do know that the motor was replaced once, and at future visits, they were able to repair it in less than 10 minutes. I would think it takes a least that long just to gain access to the motor!
Understood, and I would "fix" mine the same way until it wouldnt "fix" again. But Im just saying if they actually charged you for a replacement but didnt replace it then they would be in deep.... If they fixed it in 10 minutes I hope they only charged you a nominal fee to get it going again. They should have at least informed you what they did and not charged for an actual repair. Under warranty they should have replaced period. Warranty doesnt pay very well, but it still is work when there isnt any other. And Ford wont pay for repeat repairs unless you claim a failed part and replace the part. If ever you see a claim on warranty for a replaced part and feel the part was not actually replaced get on the horn and report them. That kind of crap just brings on a bad rep for the rest of us who dont do shoddy business.
