Going to replace the ICP sensor. Questions?

Alright I have noticed that my ICP sensor has oil leaking. So I have been told to replace it before it goes out. Is the pigtail required after it leaks or only if the wires are damaged? I was probably going to order it through riffraff. Don't know much about the ICP so just trying to make sure I know what to do and replace.

Spray the inside of the connector pins with a good electrical cleaner. No need to replace the plug unless it is damaged.

Do what Mike mentioned first. However, if you need a new ICP sensor, it is just the sensor itself. You need to make sure you keep the rubber gasket that fits on the pigtail connector that seats inside the ICP sensor itself (keeps debris out of the sensor). So, if you aren't experiencing any symptoms and you've cleaned it out, shop around for a good deal on a new ICP sensor (on eBay, RiffRaff, etc.). They're pricey (about $130) so shopping around for a good price is a luxury when possible.

That's what I will do. Tousley is at $130 and riffraff at $138. I would rather give my business to Clay. eBay was like $129.

Nope haven't checked there. Will do though.

$142 but they do have free shipping

On a side note. Is it the grey CPS sensor that everybody says to get? I can never remember.

grey CPS is the only OEM available now as far as I know. You can get the aftermarket black one that is notoriously unreliable as well.

Clay has the blue one, it's the "tweener" that does a good job. The black one is the smoothest-running, but the reliability is the concern.

I was just wondering. I have a spare CPS in the truck but it is a aftermarket BWD brand. I am sure it will work in a pinch but if I am ordering a ICP I may as well order a new CPS for the truck. Just reading more and more about using OEM sensors.
