Took my 2011 F250 in to the dealer where I purchased it concerning intermittent misses on gear changes. The dealer had no history or knowledge of problems with shift flares. I was told they would check it out. Bottom line, their checking it out yielded no results, no action, and no "engagement", pun intended, on helping me resolve a serious concern. How did others resolve the issue when it came up?
There are several TSB documents available for you to print out and show to any warranty service writer. Search this forum, search the "tech folder" for the 6.7 and you will see a lot of info. Should be helpful.
The fix is usually replacement of the shift solenoids and a reprogram. Like rushejj said, there are several service bulletins relating to this issue. It sounds like your dealer either doesn't see many Superduties or they just don't want to break a sweat. Your best option at this point would be to contact Ford Customer Service on this forum. Crystal will be able to assist you in your interaction with the dealer.
I've got 58,700 on it now. I haven't had any transmission service performed yet. I did call up Ford Customer Service and they investigated. The Ford rep called me back to say I should maybe try another dealer, evidently where I bought it didn't want to sweat. I thought they were rude. The Ford rep came through for me and gave me an extension on my warranty. Said Ford wanted to take care of me. So I'm going to a dealer that appreciates my future business and see about getting this resolved. Thanks for the heads up on where to find the technical info, I'm new to the forum. Other than the tranny deal the trucks been killer!
You have the best idea by finding another dealer.
Information on shift flares is easy for us to find and it's even easier for a dealer to locate information on the topic.
They didn't look up anything.
Replacing 3 or 4 shift solenoids in mine is what helped the most but it took Ford awhile to release a fix so I had shift issues for almost 36,000 miles.

Let us know how things go at the second dealership, TMAC28790; feel free to reach out to me if you need my assistance. All I'll need from you is a PM with your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, mileage, and servicing dealership.
The problem has been resolved! The 2nd dealer fixed the problem by replacing 3 solenoids and reprogramming the PCM/TCM. The truck shifts great. The fix has smoothed the shifting and really improved the drivability. So far, it's good. TMAC28790
What are the symptoms of the shifting issues? Under light throttle mine shifts fine as far as I can tell. Under a heavier throttle, not full on, the lower gear shift changes seem to hesitate as if the throttle was cut for the change but the change took a while and the power loss is noticeable. Is this normal or is this what you're referring to?
For me, I'd have a massive slip between the 1-2 shift, if I was heavy enough in it, I'd get a little bounce off the rev-limiter. It was VERY noticeable, nothing subtle about it. Then usually the following 2-3 shift was very harsh, a slam into engagement rather than a slide.
