Fellas, what size and type is the female outlet on the pick up tube of the tank. The place that the hard line threads into?
I need to place a return line and vent, can I just weld some AN fittings in the top of the tank?

It is a 1/2" SAE 20 TPI with a 37 degree seat. I asked this very question about 3 months ago and didn't get the answer.
I opted to weld a -8 fitting at the bottom of the tank to use as a pickup, and am using the top original pickup as my fuel return with a screw in -6 adapter.
Good luck.

Any issues with sediment using the sump line in the bottom, that was one of my concerns?
I was considering using the tank drain and seeing if I could get a nipple to thread in there with an 8 AN fitting on it.
What did you do for a vent?

Hi, I haven't used the original sediment/drain bung, that's still there. I have a new steel -AN8 bung welded onto the tank just above the bottom, on the driver's side of the tank. It collects from about the same height as the original tube pickup. I'm having a seperate 3 litre tank , that the fuel injection pump will feed from to avoid fuel starvation. I also believe that the original fuel pickup tube isn't big enough to support high bhp/fuel injection stuff.
So, I have a different pickup point that is larger, and a facet red top pump pulling fuel via a filter, into a taller thinner 3 litre tank, with an overflow back to the tank. This will effectively always be full. At the bottom of this second tank, is the feed out for the fuel injection pump prefilter then onto the pump itself.
It should work, as I ran this system on a turbo charged Caterham I had, which would have incurred damage due to fuel starvation if on boost.
I am glad you brought this up. I live in a curvy mountainous area so this may be a concern for me on my S/C engine.
Any pics of your setup?

Yes. A high volume low pressure carb jobby to keep the small tank fed. Then the fuel injection pump will feed from that.
Over your side of the pond, Id imagine it would be easier to source an under bed tank with an internal anti surge pot and internal pump?

No pics of the setup yet I'm afraid, it's still a pile of parts. I have only just got the main tank back from powdercoat. I have most of the fittings and pumps, just about to do some final measuring up for the smaller tank.
