Does it sort of feel like your running out of fuel? If you have a way to read live data (scanguageII, or the like)? Mine ended up being a bad EBP sensor. KOEO the EBP, BARO, and MAP should read real close to the same. That's where I suggest you start.
Not yet. Still waiting on rear hub seals. RockAuto is slower than Amazon prime. That is what I will do first thing. However, I may have to put a load on it to duplicate the problem. It hasn't been doing it running empty except when the Wyoming wind is blasting me head on down route 80.
In you original post, what you describe is what I believe was happening to my truck too. I swapped my EGR valve out a couple of days ago, and drove the truck today for the first time since. The EGR valve swap seems to have resolved the issue. I don't have any numbers to back up my claim, but it seems that the issue was caused by the EGR. I speculate that the valve is hanging open, and the engine is getting too much exaust, and not enough oxygen.
I'm no mechanic (just a wrench turner) but that is my experience with an issue that sounds a lot like yours.
On your Scan Gauge input the EGR dc (duty Cycle) and EGR VP ( valve position) they should read like this
koeo ( key on engine off ) low ( just Idle) high ( 2500 rpm)
EGR DC
koeo-0 lo-0-15 hi-32 percent 0 to 44 percent operating
EGR VP
koeo-0.8 lo-0.8-1.0 hi-1.3 volts 0.6 to 3.5 operating
you have alittle soot build up on the valve clean it up and also check the MAP , the connection to Intake there's a threaded nipple that gets clogged. the IAT2 sensor will be sooted as well may as well clean that too. I have been told Brake cleaner is too harsh and others say it's ok for the valve, Carb cleaner is good for all , Just don't get it in the Electrical side .
and ware your safety glasses that stuff burns like
