My truck is just 10yrs old. I now have a $6,000 bill to fix rust. It is getting a new bed, both front doors fixed, cab corners fixed, and front fenders fixed, than finally painted.
I figure the $6,000 is less than 1yrs payment's on a 6.7.
AND I really like my truck. Now I am well aware everything else could crap the bed, but it was a chance I'm willing to take.
Plus I want a really expensive toy, and I couldn't swing both and still have beer money......

I think my best bet is just to keep it and keep it running wiggly all the unnecessary add-ons and mods. I appreciate all the input guys. It's tough because I see so many kids my age with brand new trucks and wonder how they do it...I have a buddy who makes $8 hr less than me and somehow affords a $780 a month payment for a 6.7, and I know it's his money. oh well, I'll buy one when I am more financially stable and have a full time job

Your buddy is a Ballah! He is broke, and in debt to his eyebrows, but looks BadAss to his friends. It is tough for me to say this, But I was Your buddy.
If I had listened to others, I would have way more in life now.
Edit: Look at 50Cent.

This is so true.^^^^^^

I have friends who make a ton of money and drive normal vehicles, some real nice others just one of the big 3. It's the ones driving the new 3/4-1 tons that have chit jobs but live for a payment.

I couldn't imagine a $700+ monthly payment for one vehicle. I have 2 vehicles (truck and Escape) for far less than that.

I mean if I was one of these older retired or near retirement curmudgeons on FTE with everything else paid for then sure. Or one of the wealthier people.

I'm just kidding old guys.

Nothing wrong with going with an older vehicle Miles. I recently traded for a 86 samurai and its been a blast. There's something to be said for having a vehicle that you can work on every part yourself. Have you tried looking around your area for a take off bed? That'd only be 2-3 months payments on a 6.7.
