I would be afraid to see the price tag on my "dream" truck. haha One things for sure if I get it I"ll post pics. Miles that's a great rate for a fella your age. I worked with a credit union on my truck too.
I'd start to pay it off quicker but still be putting some extra in an account first. Mine is 1.75%, almost free money. Again with age and good credit these things come....
It was mostly because it was the oldest vehicle they would finance..if it was newer it would have been lower but this was the best i could get. It was actually the next week they moved to 2004 being the oldest theyd finance

Oh I understand that totally. I think you're thinking straight about what you want to do. If I were in your shoes I'd love to see myself in 4 years moving into my first home and then maybe, just maybe getting that newer truck. Or maybe you drive this one and mod the hell our of your house. Ha!
The other funny thing is just before the new year I almost sold my truck to a dealer and bought a 2001 F550 flat bed for $4500. The 550 sold and the dealer told me he needed to wait until after January to buy vehicles again. I almost had NO payment and was really looking forward to it.
I thought about just getting an older truck, like id love to have a beater such as a 97 reg cab long bed 7.3, but then i figured id be spending more money on fixing the rest of the truck. I just dont want to do ball joints for a long time, lol
It's like the beater car I own. I owe it nothing it it owes me nothing. It has a ton of quirks but gets me to work with 30mpgs and no payments. But I know at any time it could stop running. Then what????!!!!!
Haha we are all married to our vehicles in some way, AK ex. Whether it's payment, repairs, or some special event in our life, there is a connection to our vehicles. Especially to ones that are a symbol of pride and joy, treated like a family member.
your right, i guess i meant hes got so much $ tied up in it that it would not make any sense to get rid of it at this point in time.
I understand exactly what your saying because i have that "connection" with my trucks, they are not just a machine but part of the family and yes they all have their own personality...some people don't "get" that. so emotionally i'm married to mine more so then cash wise but still same idea.
I used too buy new trucks every couple of years,All diesels.Always traded them before paying them off.The last truck I bought,My current one in sig has been an outstanding truck. When I had payments in the past I never cared about them,I always had them and was used to it.My 07 is payed for and I tell you the day the title came to my front door it was a feeling I've never had before. This truck is 100% mine!!!!
I will tell you Miles...Once you pay that truck off,You won't even be thinking about a new truck!
I've been saying the same thing about my 04 for years now, I want a crew cab long bed in the worst possible way! BUT I want a manual trans, I don't care how good blah blah the new auto trans are. I want a manual and that's it so I have to get a used truck..... Problem is I have a 04 I don't want someone's beat up truck that I gotta dump money into. My 04 might not have a fire breathing 7.3, 6.0, 6.4, or a 6.7 but she has 119k and has never given me a problem or left me stranded anywhere, I have her looking and modded to how I want her and I'm keeping her till she completely dies one day, hopefully in about thirty or forty years..... LOL I'm actually thinking about buying a brand new regular cab F150 2wd for my daily commute etc and have the F350 for hunting, when it snows etc and keep her clean for when my son turns 17 and give it to him for his first truck
