So I am trying to install an aftermarket brake controller on my used 05' F250 and had one hell of a time trying to find the female connector that you plug the brake controller in. Instead I found the following plugs
Did the previous owner cut the factory plug or are these some other kind of connector. The wires seem to match with other posts about brake controller wiring. Any help would be appreciated.
IIRC the 05+ trucks were pre-wired to run off an internal brake controller mounted under the 4x4 switch. Thats what you need, im sure aftermarket could be done. I would be hesitant to start cutting into wires.
You don't have to have the factory TBC. The tekonsha prodigy is a great controller and will work in your truck. They also have a wiring pigtail to connect to that factory plug so you don't have to cut anything. IIRC, the connector you will use is the 4 wire plug with the blue, red, white, and yellow wires. Your setup is not cut, those are the factory plugs.
