Hey Folks, I have a 2015 Ford F-250 XL with a factory EBC set up plug but no brake controller. I have been trying to search posts on which brake controller to use but haven't had much luck. Any one have any Recommendations on what brake controller to use, or perhaps a ford recommended brake controller? I do have the ford Harness that came with the truck. Any Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
Between the support, product and service, Tekonsha has the best Trailer Brake Controllers out there. Don't know what you are pulling, but the P2 or P3 model would be your choices.
^^^ What he said. I had the Prodigy P3 in my half ton truck. Set it and forget it. It worked right every time. I installed it and never took it out. They usually sell a brand/model specific adapter so you don't have to do any connecting of bare wires. Plug and play.
As I have an 05 250 diesel and the TBC was first introduced in this year, I could not find an adapter to go between my TBC wiring and the P3. Had to cut and solder the connection. Then, no problem. I did see Amazon had the adapters for newer year trucks..

The jumper harness listed fo a Ford Flex fits and works perfectly. The Super Duty isn’t listed on the package, but the connectors and pinout are compatible.
I don’t remember if I got it from Amazon or etrailer, or what year Flex. I think I just did a search for 2005 Super Duty brake controller harness and enough information popped up that I was confident the part was compatible.
As I was in a campground when I ordered the controller and really didn't have the time or means to research, I did the cut & solder routine. Works great. Nice to know that the adapter is available tho....
No clue what I am doing wrong of if I got a lemon but I am not impressed with my p3. I have had it in 2 different trucks and used it with at least 6 different trailers. even with it turned all the way up it will not apply full voltage to the trailer brakes. whenever I am trying to stop quickly I reach down and manually apply full brakes. Even in a panic stop it will not max out for me.
Edit Yes I have adjusted all the settings to max and used all levels of boost.
From Etrailer The P3 is a proportional brake controller. It will only apply as much braking power as needed based on the amount of deceleration the tow vehicle is applying.
The display doesn't show 12v when full emergency? if not i would check the supply side, if it's good then it must be defective, i can get 12v out no problem.

Not just by stepping on the brake pedal. It will go to 12.9 if I manually apply it. Voltage set all the way up. Boost is max for sure. I think it is setting #3 but don't remember.
the braking with the pedal is proportional so it will start low than ramp up to what its set at when the accelerometer senses the truck starting to decelerate. I had to remount mine because it was not level the first time and did some weird stuff. After that it worked fine, my tires would lock at 7v so i set them to 5.5, it would apply close to 5.5 if you stomped on the brakes. The higher boost will apply more initial voltage. I would try and verify at the plug that you are getting what it says its putting out.
