I believe you can. I am not positive though. I'd like to know for sure also. I've got a 68 that needs at least a cover. Hopefully somebody will know for sure.
I notes written down about this and can't find them now, but all the info I had came from this forum. From memory, I think seats from 96 and older fit if you have the tracks, and if you don't, tracks from 73-79 will fit, but the mechanism that you click to lean the seat forward is designed differently on the dentsides (because they had a roomier cab) so if you use those (which I did), you have to move the seat forward a couple of notches to be able to click the thingy to lean the seat forward.
I went to the junkyard, found a decent seat in a mid 80's F250 and removed that, then found a dentside and removed the seat, took the tracks off it, and mounted the tracks to my "new" seat. Therefore leaving the junkyard I had one seat assembly. $40 and it has a nice new home.
I have a 1969 f-100, need to know if I can install a 1996 f-150 bench seat ?
don't have the original seat, bought the truck with Camaro bucket seats .
Sorry I been busy with work, have not had a chance to get on this forum. I have not found a bench seat for my truck. I did find a 2009 Ford Excursion third bench seat.(I been studying this issue ) The seat tracks (rail) are located more to the center versus to the ends. If the length of this bench does fit in the cab, then all I have to do is bolt on some extension plates (arm) to original holes from previous seat. Before I do all this, I need to make sure seat is positioned for a comfortable fit. I will have this information posted later. For now if anyone thinks this wont work, feel free to add on to make corrections for me, Buying this leather seat next week and it does fold down for access to gas tank behind seat.

It seems to me that I saw some "Original Style" upholstery kits available through LMC. Check here: Truck Parts and Truck Accessories
I had one of mine recovered a long time ago, with regular black nagahyde (which is durable, but unpleasantly hot during the summer). The other one hasn't been recovered yet, and it's got an old Navaho blanket thrown over it for the time being.
