see my gallery - using the '77 seat tracks I bolted up a bench seat from 1996 1/2 ton.
looks great! modernized the interior and took the same amount of time as reinstalling the original seat.
I have questions about the seat swap. Did the 96 seat offer any more or less room in the cab? Such as forcing you to slide the seat forward? Or do you have more space between you and the steering wheel?

I have more room now between the seat and wheel simply because of the new Grant steering wheel - 13'' opposed to what seemed like a 3 foot wheel!
You do sit up much higher in the cab - has a 3/4, 1-ton effect in how you sit.
Thank you for the kind words. The truck has def. come a long way!
Well I just picked up the 89 bench seat for $70 that I found on Craigslist and also got a class-3 hitch at the same time for $25. I'm about 2/3rds the way through installing some new rubber flooring in my 77, so I should have the 89 seat bolted in my truck by next weekend. The seat is much more comfortable than my 77 seat and has built in head rests and a fold down arm rest as well.
