My truck has a miss, idle to about 1600-1700 rpm, I've got a new black cps and a new ICP from clay, neither makes a difference, ran the truck with the ICP unplugged and no difference. Now a good friend of mine has a snap-on tool that can look at the truck. I know we need to do a buzz test and cylinder contribution test, but what are we looking at to know if its a oring or bad IPR? Also the truck starts hard when its earned up. Any help is appreciated.
Read the injector troubleshooting link in my signature. Since it's a hard-start when warm, O-rings and/or injectors are suspect - but many things can be checked before looking hard at those. The Cody test [LINK] may yield clues as to the condition of your O-rings.
whats happening, when it is suspected to be the injectors, if the trucks' hard-starting when warm?
Reason i ask is, i have a on-off switch for my d2 pump. ..(for when im run'n wvo), either in dead cold mornings or after i just ran an hour on her, when i flip the ignition..(cold, when gpr-led goes out) WITH D2 pump switvh off...aka, no diesel flowing to injectors, my truck pops off with in 1/2 rotation of motor, BUT, if i HAVE switch on..(d2), it takes 2-4 seconds for motor to fire.
My '02 also had a slight miss and after replacing the a wiring harness due to brittle insulation and the IPR the miss went away. The '02 has a lot of miles on it and the IPR had some fairly dirty oil in that small plunger assembly after I broke it apart.
Hard to point directly at a miss though.
Buzz test sounded OK, the 3rd injector it hit sounded a little weak. Did the cct and number 2 failed 3 times. So I'd say number two is my problem.
You can ohm out all your injectors from the connector over the driver-side valve cover. "P+" = Passenger side supply common, odd numbers are on passenger side.
Tugly, I just put new valve cover gaskets and uvch less than 50 miles ago with I replaced all the glow plugs. And I had this miss before I did any of that changing.

Sorry... I would still urge you to verify the conductivity on a brand new connection - You need to verify. Look at what happened here:
