Hi guys. Something baffles me. I replaced my brake pads in the front and the ABS line in the passenger side front. The driver side has a completely new hub with ABS line. The rear VSS was replaced.
Everything worked until I drove it. The ABS light came on and stayed on after about 2 miles or so. It didn't flash or anything. It's got me stumped.
05 f-350 drw 4x4. Btw, the braking works great and everything is fine. Wat can it be?
Hi Dom , just about has to be the abs line or sensor. So worked great until you drove it? Lol. Sometimes the light goes out with some driving. Stomp on your breaks a couple of times.
Without a scanner your just guessing. A scan tool will tell you where to start. I assume it was on before you swapped the abs (line) as you call it. The abs is electronic so did you replace a brake fluid line or the sensor and connector or just the wiring? The rear axle has a sensor as well that has been known to fail.
Thanks guys. I replaced the whole line on the passenger side front. Had to pull out everything except the hub just to access it.
The rear VSS (sensor) on the rear axle is new. It's been replaced.
At the rate it's going, I'm inclined to think it may be the new line which I bought. It may be defective but I'm gonna test it first.
How do we scan the darn thing? The ABS light is on but it's not a DTC. So if I'm not mistaken, only the ABS module will carry the code. Also, scanning the ABS module is not at the obd2 port. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Dom IF you want to come up and visit I have a Snap-On that
will read the ABS codes.
I am having problems with my right side one and it the plug
that is the problem. I think I am going to end up replacing the
truck side connector or the harness. The wheel side is good.
My other option is to see if I can fix the pins in the plug.
You hight try wiggling that plug and see if it helps.

I know some wont have a ABS Code reader but some will
I know the Oreillys by my house uses a Cheap OBDII code reader they let folks use. But I am Friends with a couple of the Managers so they have a More expensive one that will read Other operating systems
Might be worth Callen around to see who has a ABS DTC Reader
Have you tried to unhook batteries and turn the headlights on trick??
And it might be the case that if the problem is gone the PCM will turn Off the ABS Light after enough drive cycles of NO Fault showing up
