Got my carrier pump in today. Took her for a spin and when I get her up to about 2400rpms wot, the fuel filter light comes on. Filter is not old at all and it didn't do this until I got the carrier on. Is my filter already bad or too tight of a filter maybe? There's no power lose.
that's no good.you've got to figure out whats happening or you risk ip damage.suspect the incoming/suction side fitting.what did you use to seal the threads?
Ok, got my lines sealed (the right way, and I knew better). Took her down the road and the filter light still comes on. When you give it 3/4 to full throttle the fuel filter light comes on, no power lose or missing, in fact it seems to be running better! Might be all in my head! The light goes right out when it levels out to speed from when you throttle it. Advice is greatly appreciated.
hmm.very odd.did you try loosening the bowl to see if it's air locked.it should purge through though but it can't hurt to try.hopefully you didn't get a faulty pump.
is the new pump pushing thru the filter or pulling on it,? if it is mounted under the truck and pushing thru the filter you have a blockage of some type before the filter head, crushed line or debris of some type. As the only reason the filter lite comes on is when there is a vacuum if formed between the filter head and the IP.
