E40D shift shaft seal replacement
Hello all,
I have a 1997 F-53 motorhome that leaks trans fluid after I park it for more then 1 week. At first I thought the leak was from the trans pan gasket. I replaced the gasket and filter with OEM Ford metal reinforced rubber gasket but leak continued as before. It seems the shift shaft seals drips onto the trans pan/gasket area after it sits for a while.
Can anyone point me to info on how to replace the shift shaft seal. I did a search on the forum, but came up blank. Maybe something wrong with my search parameters? Wondering if the shift shaft removal is difficult, any hidden clips etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
