Looking for part only costs
Bad oil cooler, bad EGR cooler job.
Failed head gaskets and ARP job.
The reason is I am trying to make up a plan to send to my brother in-law.
He has access to used trucks and what not.
If I can pick up at a nice price and then fix and sell.
Sean
Would you go with an OEM oil cooler replacement?
How about the EGR system - a BPD cooler or a delete?
Do you want to do some extra stuff like replace any hoses or the belt while you are doing the job?
What coolant will you use?
Don't forget the cost of an oil change in the estimate.
Are you planning a chemical flush of the coolant or not?
Head gasket job:
Re-ring the injectors is a must, but would you want to change the o-rings in the HPO manifold also?
Replacing the glow plug harnesses is usually wise.
How about cleaning the turbo?
Do you already have an estimate for checking the heads (and milling them also, if needed)?
Since you would do it to sell it, I suppose it would be a bare bones cost, but didn't want to assume ... Sometimes a used truck you buy needs some of this "extra" stuff.

Well the EGR would have to stay intact. Silly California laws.
But I can still use a BPD cooler.
I like new gaskets because I don't like going back for a leak.
On fixing up I would stay at the minimum but not go cheap or aftermarket.
If the heads come off the ARPs will go in. No if and's or butts.
I have the tools and may as well use them.

The one thing about the brother in-law is he is a dealership manager.
So he can pick up things.
But I think I will have a look into that one up north.
