I know this kind of sounds stupid but I like to have my truck looking good, both under the hood and on the outside. I degrease my 68' all the time and I know what to avoid spraying with water while doing it ( distributor, carb, air filter). Can I use engine degreaser on the 6.0 and not have any problems? What are the things I should avoid spraying with water?
Personally I wouldn't spray it with water. Just put some simple green on a rag and wipe it down. I sprayed mine off once and got some water around the ICP and it was hell to figure out.
Ive power-washed mine a couple time's (used de-greaser at car-wash) & had No problems...
I avoided the FICM, Power Distribution Blocks, etc....Moved the wand around quickly & didn't spray too closely.
I cant guarantee anything but ive had good luck washing mine

Reason: reduced pic size
Looks good. I dont have any simple green on hand right now so is like to use what I have. I'll try spraying it fast and lightly after decreased. Maybe more will chime in and post more results

After the only time I washed mine, the motor would surge about 100 RPMs. I pulled up to a stoplight and after 10 seconds of sitting there it felt like I got rear ended. I started reading on here and figured it had to be the ICP sensor. I cleaned it well with plastic safe contact cleaner and reseated the connection and never had the problem again.
If your going to wash. Don't use high pressure. Water out of the end of the hose
would be the safer way. The stay away from connectors. You could also pre-treat
all the connectors with dielectric grease and that way the water will be less likely
to enter the connection.
When I clean mine I like to use this Extreme Simple Green
It's approved for use on aircraft and aluminum. I find it does a really good job and does not have
the smell of the green Simple Green. It seems to cut grease and grime very well.
