Did you have some water in the fuel or gas run through it? If the tip is broke off of #5, and a miss with a cyl 5 contribution code. I would crank the truck with the FICM relay pulled and listen to see if it cranks even and consistent or if it makes a strange sound (dead hole) while cranking. It the crank is inconsistent with a broken tip and a contribution code for #5, I would think pulling the heads would pretty much be a waste of time. You can see if the valve is hanging open by removing the valve cover and rocker arms. Use a straight edge and see is one is hanging open. Most likely going to need a long block due to base engine problems.
Well the bad news today is the top of #5 piston is chewed to the top ring in two spots . Dealership says new motor time have to wait for a warranty adjuster to inspect damedge absolutely unfreking believable . It's a ford extended warranty does that mean it will be a new motor or a reman. Thankfully have warranty but don't know if I will keep it when ever this is all over. I have seen some horror stories on hear about remained 6.0 thanks for your opinions
So after ford sampling oil and fuel both good by the way . My new long block is on order dealer didn't know if ford remans themselves one would think all parts would be oem do any of you guys have any Knowledge about the ford reman process thanks

Ford does the reman's. There is a recently posted video of the reman process here somewhere. Very interesting stuff....

03 motor doesn't have an STC fitting like the later trucks, but should have the LPOP updated as much as it can be. It may have the large front water pump cover, but I doubt it.
So the long block will still be built as a 03 I was thinking they would build one style with updates don't know much of the internals on theses motors or is my line of thinking not possible ?
Picked my truck up last Monday finally new long block and turbo got almost 3000 miles on it already . Runs great does seem to crank longer than old motor prolly just me . Next I'm going to send FICm to Ed . Hope this motor last more than 52 k .
