Hi, I have a 1993 F150 5.0 4X4 flair side with an AOD auto trans. It's in need of rebuilding. I was wondering if an AOD trans out of an '89 5.0 Crown Vic will fit if I swap out the tail shaft and housing for the transfer case?

Fit yes.. last no. Early AOD's were weak and car versions among the most poorly equipped, and you would have to completely dismantle it to change the output shaft. Your best bet is to find one from a 4x4 truck or just rebuild the one you have and install a street shift kit for long life.
