inspected the rear and found nothing. I was driving back from work and I felt it but now that I know its coming I may have been mistaken. I feel like its an engine shutter I feel the instant loss of power at the rear. Im leaning towards something with the motor not necessarily the rear
when this happens do you let off the gas? i have a 94 and randomly (especially while towing an empty trailer) the transmission randomly upshifts and if you keep your foot where it was the engine revs sky high and if you let off the gas the fricken thing slams into gear like no other, that is why i was asking about rpms earlier

yes that is basically what happens. ill be driving and it feels like the trans shifts into a lower gear and I lose throttle. I never punched the gas to see if it would rev up I always let off and it slams into gear. What was the issue with yours? my problem sounds very similar

i dont know. it only does it when the weather changes, like if its hot then warm or dry then rainy/wet and other wise its fine and it has done that for years, its a 5.0 auto also, so you could try and wait it out, like said mine has done it for years and it doesnt seem to harm it, quite frankly it has 205,00 miles on it so i really dont care too much about it either though
Im going to start with a trans diagnoses as the problem seems to be transmission related. Possibly drain the fluid replace the filter and put additive in? A friend suggested it could possibly be the torque converter acting up does this sound likely? if so is there anyway to check for sure? thank you
