Also have a code P0262 now.
P0262 Injector Circuit High - Cylinder 1

So what does that mean? Replace the injector? Again I know nothing about diesels.

That could either be a shorted injector circuit or a defective injector coil. You can test it with a DVOM. It could also mean a bad FICM. You need to check your FICM cold prestart, cold running at idle, and cold running at 2500 RPM's. ANY voltage below 45 means your FICM is failing or failed.

Good decision to buy a SG2 !! As far as fuel pressure go's, most all of us have installed the Blue Spring Mod. It's a spring you use to replace the OEM one in your Fuel Regulator. It increases your fuel pressure around 10 psi up to 50/55 lbs. The kits are around $50 and after doing this most assume fuel pressure is good.
If you want to add a fuel pressure gauge you have to install a sender in the test port of the Fuel Regulater and mount a separate gauge in the cab.

I did the blue spring upgrade about two years ago I think. Still don't have a pressure gauge to check it but will see what I can find tomorrow as far as adding a gauge. Trucks been parked all night and will check the FICM voltages in the morning cold and cranking.

I checked out the recommened FICM guy in earlier post. Even if mine checks ok, the advantages look to be worth it for the upgrade. So that will be a near future upgrade. Just need to get the truck back to running ok for now. Another service I've over looked is flushing the coolant. Read the procedure on that today. Removed the cap today and found a white cream cheese looking crap on the inside of the cap. Idk, but has the EGR bypass so not sure where I'm getting that from. The oil looks good.

That don't sound good. I built my own Coolant filter with Napa parts for around $125. I now I didn't save any money over the offered kits but I was able to use 3/4" heater hose for increased volume, you just need to drill out the filter head orifice to 1/2". I have a pictorial in my user page if you care to check it out. But lets get it running right first.

So Simon, here's the way to get your Numbers from the SG2.
First return truck to stock programming, The Tuners Tweak the Motor and we need to see all numbers from a stock program!!
Then Warm the Truck up to 190* ( or close).
Turn off all Accessories and have truck in park or neutral.
Post Three sets of numbers, first at KOEO, second at low idle, third at 2500 RPM.
Just post the numbers you are ask for, if you post all the sensors the SG2 reads the list gets really long and confusing. Post like this.
FICM - 48.5 - 48.5 - 48.5
EGR - 0. - 14. - 35
and so on
I had Ed Fix my FICM and am very happy with his work. My problem was happening when the Motor was under load, while climbing a small grade I could watch my FICM slowly drop to 34v by the time I got to the top of the hill but it looked fine while sitting in my driveway. So check yours out like this too before we rule it out.

Ok. Here's what I've got this morning.

FIMC voltage cold, truck cold (sat overnight)
Key off, engine off
48.0, 11.5, 11.5
Key on, engine off, glow plug light on
47, 10.5, 11
Cranking
47, 11, 11.5
Cold idle
47.5, 13.5, 13.0
Cold 2500rpm
46, 13.5, 13.0

The 46v at 2500rpm wasn't for very long, it bounced around at 46.5/47 most of the time.

So does this seam like an FICM issue to anyone?

FICM "looks" good. You need to take a DVOM and check the injector circuit and coils for continuity and/or a short to ground.

I was reading last night trying to find a testing procedure on checking the coils. Does anyone have a link to checking them. I looked in the tech folder but didn't see it under injectors.

It's pretty much just like checking any circuit. If I was doing it I would disconnect the injector at the valve cover and check the coils first. Two pins for each coil. The FICM harness itself will require more work (removing FICM and unplugging it).

If I understand it right there is a coil on each side, 2 wires per coil, 4 wires bc of 2 coils in each. So I'm just checking the resistance of each coil?

Yes EGR can be monitored. Someone will post a full list of X Gauges. They can cut and paste, to much typing for me on this phone.
