Anybody here load their four wheeler in the bed using a step tailgate w/o damage to the plastic covering?
Also, I saw a post awhile back about where they rigged a solenoid and connected the tailgate lock to operate with the key fob and switches. Does anyone know how or have done this. Can I just pick up the power wire from the rear door (crew cab) and extend it to a mounted solenoid?
X10 on the key fob locking. Also itd be nice if the gate had an indicator of being open or ajar like the cab doors. Left mine open after hunting with my ATV trailer on. The dam trailer jack made contact with the gate. You want to see one pissed off hunter that was me. dauh! Fortunately the lift assist step pulled out and 99% of the scratching is covered when the steps in the home position. Touch-up paint makes it almost invisible. A door ajar signal would have prevented this, or a ballpeen hammer to my forehead would have sufficed as well. Wonder if thats an option.
