ttb pivot bracket questions

ok so i have a spare set of factory ttb brackets and id like to modify them for 3 inches of lift. so my question is how far should i move the mounting hole down from the factory location to achieve this. these will only be temporary till i get some money together for cut and turned beams.

you will need to get the truck completely level, then put the springs in. once all back together measure how far down you will need to go to re level the axle.

If going with only 3 inches for now, might be able to get away without any drop pivot brackets. But you would want to drop the radius arm brackets some.

3 inches of spring lift without lowering the center pivot brackets will make you about 25 degrees off camber.

I'm just a simple caveman, but wouldn't you need to drop the pivot point by the same as the lift? If you want to keep your camber stock you need to leave the entire beam where it was as the rest of the truck goes up. Now given that 3" lift springs don't necessarily give 3" of lift I see the benefit in tjc's advice. But it sure seems to be that you need to drop the pivot point the same amount as the springs are longer (when loaded).

Ya theoretically speaking yes, in reality, I know you can do 2 inches without dropping any brackets.

this is what i was thinking. my plans are to mod them for 3 inches of lift and build a et of adjustable coil buckets so i can fine tune it (i have a set of brand new
6 inch super flex coils from a 79 f150 my friend was gonna use but went with coil overs)
