1993 F250 7.3 IDI 2WD Ext Cab 8ft Utility bed SRW 8800 GVWR
I know that some of this has been discussed in the past and even though i've searched I'm just spinning in circles no.
Broke a leaf in my rear drivers pack.
Spring code on door jamb is KA
Now my understanding is this is a standard spring on these trucks however i'm told i should have a heavier duty spring rate with the utility body.
The current pack is 4+1....does this sound right to those of you that have a clue?
Should i be looking for the same thing a the local pic n pul yard? or should i look for more leaves in the main part of the pack? Also there is no aux pack on this truck...
Well, first i would replace the broken spring. Just go to a pick and pull and get same leaf. Then wory about overloads or upgraded springs. How much weight do you cary in your utility box?
Well I was able to score a set or springs with shackles and hangers for $100 per side. All parts look to be quite new. Going to replace the broken side in the morning.
well what do you carry? if its a srw then stock will be fine for light use, but a dually with untility bed gn hitch full of tools and a trailer you need more. get fsd rear springs thats what i have without overloads, i had 4k in the bed with 1-2 inch of sag rear was still sitting high.
I carry assorted construction tools on a daily basis, then the added debris etc on occasion.
GVWR is 8800 im around 7800 on a daily basis.
Installed the used spring with hanger replacing the broken pack. Feels like the truck is bottoming on bumps that it had no issue with befor the leaf broke.
Now have a new issue as well. While i had the tires off i checked my rear shoes and found that one of the brake shoe hold downs were broken, replaced with new hardware and now i have a pulsation that pulsates the whole truck when the brakes are applied.
And on the way home i think my alternator started to put the amp light on.
