Ok I have a leak I cant quite figure out. Its somwhere in the valley becasue it will pool there. the leak is a very minor one but enough i see puddles under the truck if i dont bleed pressure off after I park the truck. seems to leak only under pressure and after it cools down.
I have 2 questions for anyone in the know.
1. I used a Dicad solutions egr kit. seemed to be pretty good other then the "J" tube isnt welded to the little egr block off part. it is supposed to clamp the "J" tube in place when its tight. this thing is quite loose i can move it side to side but not up and down. anyone use this kit? had problems? I think the leak is there at the little nipple.
2.On this EGR delete kit I used a new blue ford hose. It seemed to fit tight over the "J" tube end. but the only seal there is a yellow o ring in the blue hose. can you use this hose the EGR delete? Or should I ahve used the crap included in the kit with 2 cheesy hose clamps?
Thanks in advance!
One trick to try. See if you can get some paper under it after you
blow the coolant out of the valley when it still under pressure.
Stick it under the J tube at the hose for a few minutes and see
if there is a wet spot on it. Try to not let it sag down into the valley
and pick up coolant there. I think you may find that the j tube is
the point of the leak. Then it will be the tube or the hose. one other
way once you get it narrowed down would be some bubble juice and
a cooling system pressure tester. Drop the coolant level below that
point pressurize the system to a few Lbs. Listen for any hissing then
pour some of the bubble juice on the location and look for bubbles.
Thanks sean. But I what would be the fix? Im thinking I have to buy a new "J" tube since the issue is it not being tight enough.
Anyone running a egr delete kit. Should it be able to move around after tightening up the egr cooler bolts to it?

I wouldn't think so but I've never used one of those. Mine mounts solidly at that point.
You have to identify the leak. If it is the J tube then yes it needs to be replaced
or re-welded. But if the leak is something else no sense spending the money
on replacing a part that is good.
