unknown electrical problem

I have a 1992 f250 7.3 idi. the truck has ran great for the 6 months that ive owed it but a couple days ago I went to start it and the tachometer, the oil pressure gauge and the battery gauge have stopped working. the transmission is now not down shifting as well. any suggestions?

you most likely get more support in the 7.3 IDI section,I would start checking electrical connections,battery,grounds on engine & engine compartment & charging system is healthy.

If it was just your tachometer I would say that it's the tach sensor that's located next to your oil fill cap but since it's all three of those gauges not working, sounds like you've got an electrical issue to track down. However, I can tell you that those gauges not working is what's causing your trans to not shift right. I bet your OD light on your shifter is blinking too. All the stars and the moon have to align just right for the E4OD trans to shift like it should! LOL. But like that above post said, move this thread down to the next forum, Pre-Powerstroke forum, there's alot of guys in there that are intimately familiar with the E4OD.
