I'm curious if anyone is using an ELM327 OBDII USB Reader to check their engine stats, and what software they are using. I've been using mine to read/clear codes on various vehicles, and I was tempted to use it for checking my EOT/ECT Delta before I decide which live monitoring setup to purchase and install.

I've used OBD Wiz for a couple years now and the same ELM adaptor you pictured. Works well on everything I've connected it to-even a couple of imports. On your truck (or Ford vehicles in general) check out FORScan. It's a free(BETA), Ford specific, Windows based program that does engine, trans, abs, bcm, and others, with initiated tests on several systems. It has a few quirks but it is stable on my Vista/HP laptop using the same ELM adapter.
I bought a BAFX Bluetooth ODB2 adaptor off amazon works great with my Surface Pro running win8.1. I've also use the adaptor with the torque APP on my android phone w/no issues.
I hope to spend some time this weekend with the Forscan SW on my surface to see what I can figure out.
IMO, as long as this adaptor supports your OS you 'should' be good to go.
Hooked up my ELM327 yesterday, and ran FORSCAN for the first time. I wasn't able to find a Celcius or Farenheit value for EOT. It seems only ECT had one, the EOT sensor simply said "Cold". Anyone know of some free ODBII software that will read Engine Oil Temp in F or C, or did I miss the feature in FORSCAN?
I also threw the following DTCs:
PCM - P0113 - IAT Sensor Circuit High Input
IC - B1352-60 - Ignition key in circuit fault (I assume the previous owner cut the wire to prevent the key-in chime?)
I currently have the ELM 327 Wirless with my iphone. Not recommended. Locks up continuously. From what I have read it is not compatible with Ford. The app I have (Engine Link) does have the Ford PID's however the App cannot talk to the ELM 327 on my truck. Will work on every other vehicle but Ford. If anyone thinks they know why I would use it.
The ELM327 is working fine in my case, FORScan was reading no issue -except that there was no Celcius or Farenheit value for Engine Oil Temp. One EOT PID simply returned "COLD".

Madhatt are you using an iPhone. If so what app are you usingC
ELM327 USB connected to my laptop, and I am using FORScan. Everything works as expected, however I don't see an Engine Oil Temp PID that has Celcius or Farenheit readings.
