I last sprayed my Nassau Blue Vette, and it was with Dupont Chroma Base coat clear coat as well as the appropriate flex agents and sealers. It turned out beautiful. I will have to do it again, because a landscaper backed a mower into the nose.
I most recently used a PPG system
Both systems are quite pricey.
For now, I am working on my 2000 super duty lariat. Paint code UD and B5. I am wondering if there are alternatives available.
Dupont and PPG are both mid priced products. Sikkens, Spies Hecker, Standox, and Glasurit are very good quality, high priced product lines.
Nason & Omni are low priced CHEEP paint lines. Look up Wanda. I know, you have never heard of it and it has a funny name but it is pretty darn good stuff and is priced right. They use it at on the Lingenfeller (spelling?) vettes and camaro to firebird conversions.
Wanda is crap! Low leg cheap. Just because ling. uses it don't mean crap, PPG is the largest paint supplier to not only OEM but collision in the word, they have a paint line for every budget from value line OMNI to water EHP and everything in between. Point in case PPG. Supplies Harley with all there paints and powder coats and they use what you call mid tear DELTRON or DBC as we know it. Shows how stupid you are when it comes to paint. When was the last time you seen a Harley all chipped up!
Simply put what quality level do you want and warranty. Your Wanda is low like Nason etc. Chroma and PpG DELTRON are great systems then you have Chroma premier or PpG Global. Then you have water witch PPG owns the world with that product!
Simply put just because some shop uses something does not make it good, they are using cheap crap to keep cost down and make more money. Ask them to see warranty on that stuff.

Good lord what a bunch of BS all in just one spot--the crap ain't in a paint can, its in writing right HERE!
Not the best way to introduce yourself on a forum even if your intention is to be helpful!
Next you will tell us all that WANDA has great color match and Nason is the best for collision work, You are no doubt either out of touch or under the influence of something, do some research,
I have worked for 2 of the major Paint companies and have been in the field for over 20 years Good luck,
OH and Hello All My name is Brett in PA
I certainly took my time and investigated. I have 3 cpus, droid and mini IPad. It has taken weeks. turns out, I had 12 items on my list for my '00 lariat superduty conversion to an '07 Harley Davidson. My favorite bone yard of all time is Calumet Auto Wrecking in Hammond IN there are few like it in the world. I used to go to the S. Side and buy parts at JC Whitney. I've hunted parts just about everywhere and I have some stories to tell. Since I live in Phila the bonyards in Jersey, Eastern PA and Delaware just didn't have much for the superduty. I had to go out and do some site visits. The most active auto recycling activity in Phila, is off Passyunk, 61st and Essington. It is gritty, muddy and you have yell, "hey YO!" for anyone's attention. Several yards there, just not organized, nor quality. Ebay has a couple of after market vendors, but it's difficult to parse out an order when the vendors bundle their packages and auction only. Makes it difficult to shop on price, shipping, handling, timing. I finally ran across a place that was priced very very competitively on the Internet, and they own JC Whitney! USAautoparts, AKA carparts on the Internet. At the end, I asked for 10% off and they gave it to me. so far.. so good.
Those parts will be in the next couple of weeks. Glad that shopping is finished. There is a huge number of combinations available in the aftermarket. I felt the 2007 HD scheme was the best, with the exception of the grill. I went with a chrome 2007 HD Billet/Honeycomb. In the last several years, it seems the monochrome bumper/grille combination is available several less expensive models including GM and Dodge. I'm not sure, but I think the monochrome look started in the early 90's with the Chevy/GMC Z71 option, which still looks good today. The condition of my paint (two tone Black over Harvest Gold) on the Lariat is excellent, and the sad thing, it has the nicely finished rounded pin stripe under the rear tails. My plan is to go with one solid color, with the monochrome fender flares. Although, it may be just as easy to stick with Harvest Gold, which would now include the front bumper, fender flares and rear bumper.
