The picture with the cab on the frame is actually the first time I mounted the front end. But I wasn't happy with it so I took it all back down to bare frame and started over. I haven't put the cab on it since I finished the front end but it should be in the same place. I have tons and tons of pictures of the engine build and what the truck has been through to this point. I'll be sure and post some of them later.

Thanks for the kind words. It feels good to be finally making some forward progress on this thing. Once I can get over this illness I'll get on with putting the motor in the frame.

Alright guys, I need some advice.

I need to figure out some motor mounts to put my 302 (now 331) into the truck with the crown vic front end. The more I look at it, the more it looks like I am going to have to put the cab back on the frame to make sure everything goes where its supposed to but. But if there is an already made aftermarket option or if anyone knows of a good write up, I'd love to hear about it.

Thanks!

Ok, so I've got a plan for my motor mounts. I found a CV swap where a guy used Ford Tempo mounts to minimize the fabrication. I'm gonna give those a shot. I probably need to make a dedicated build thread but for right now I'll just post here.

I had a bit of progress. Nothing major, really just getting set up to build the motor mounts. After that I guess its on to either the steering or the back axle and mustang gas tank.

Had a bit of a battle getting the front end separated from the cab. The uppermost fender bolt to the cab on the passenger side broke loose and just spun. But I was able to put pressure on it and get it to screw out. The lower one on the driver side wasn't giving up so I eventually ended up just ripping it out of the fender. I guess I'll have to do some panel repair in the future. I also need to get a better method for lifting the cab.

I got it set on the frame. The rear mounts are still too low but for right now its fine.

I got a temporary motor mount in place

I also added a new ford to the family on Friday night. Its an 89 with the 300 inline 6. She's a but rough paint wise but there is barely a dent on her. She's got 114,000 original miles and runs like a top. I think I got a pretty good deal and can't wait to get it on the road.
