Front cab mount help

I am putting new front cab mounts on my new floor pans. Any one have advice as to the best way to do this? My worry is getting them in the correct spot so the front of the cab doesn't sit higher or lower than the back or front clip. I just set the cab back on the frame and lined the rear mounts up. It looks like the rubber mount is 1.5 inches thick, so I'm thinking about putting a 2x4 under each back mount, to make sure the back is set the same, but now the front. Don't want to screw this up. Any advice is appreciated.

I took height mesurements before i cut the old cab mounts off. If you don't have measurements i would try to make sure the truck is on a level surface and the frame is sitting level (ie no corners of the truck are higher than the other). Bolt the cab down in the rear with the bushings in place. Support the front of the cab and measure the rockers so the front and rear are the same distance from the ground. Put the front mounts, bushings and bolts in. Tack it in place, double check, then finish welding it in. I would also take side to side measurements on the cab, and measurements between the door jam and start of the bed. The more **** you are and more measurements you match up between sides the better off you will be. As long as the cab is lower in the front, you can always shim it up to where you need it to be.

I think I got it. I didn't have the frame on a level surface but what I did was bolt the rear of the cab down and get the front of the cab centered on the frame. The old bushings were 1.5 inches tall so I put the front mounts on and measured down to the frame support and I had roughly the same. The top of the new cab mount has the top edge bent over where it gets welded to the seam of the firewall and it seamed to fit good by clamping it to that seam. Only thing that looked odd to me was that with the cab being centered on the frame the trans tunnel looked off center with the frame, so I held the steering gearbox up and the holes seemed to line up so I'm guessing the trans tunnel is off centered on the cab. Unfortunatly I have the whole truck stripped so I couldn't line it up with the bed or front fenders. Like you said I just took a ton of measurements and hopefully it will work.

WIth the access cover over the transmission off, the transmission seems like it sits awfully close to the drivers side in my truck.

Yea, thats the way mine sat also. I triple checked all measurements and that's where it's gotta go. Just one of those things where you kind of panic because once you start welding them in place they're there to stay.
