66 crew cab frames?
I wanted to put a new modern frame under her! what frames line up with the body mounts? im open to alota different options was thinkig about a newer 2000 f150 crew cab so that way ive got IFS power steering and brakes! But having a 250 where i could put a 12 valve in would wicked awesome too
and what boxes came on those trucks i asssumed they were all long boxes but in the pictures im seeing they really kinda look like short boxes? I wonder if there were options to have either a long box or a short box?
sense information is very sparse on these trucks!!

FTE member garbz2 knows more about pre 1973 Crew Cabs than anyone else on FTE.
sorry if this is a dead thread... I am currently in the process of re-framing my 64 it is currently sitting on a 94 F350 frame. What I did is used the forward cab mounts as a starting point and moved/adapted the rest to fit. The cab mounts were very close to that of the 94. I started by lifting the front cab mounting positions a few inches so that the inner fenders would clear the 94's shock towers and also give me room for a taller transmission. Also, the newer frame is much more shapely and increases in height from the ground as you move backwards towards the bed. I did this using the largest diameter thick wall tube that i could find that wouldn't be larger that the body mount itself. This gave me plenty of room to move the actual mounting location forward and aft as I needed. I then torched out any extra material inside of the tube so that I could still access it to place the hardware from the bottom. Once I was sure about the location of the cab mounts I drilled the apropriate sized holes for the hardware.

The rear cab mounts were much wider than the 94's and they now rested over the frame rails instead of on a cross member such as the 94's did. I used some thick walled 6x6 tube to create a flat mounting spot to the top of the frame rail and then once again torched out the material under the new mounting location for the hardware to be slid in from the bottom. I didn't want to weaken the frame so i added "fish" plates on the inside of the frame to replace the strength I may have lost.
As far as the front clip mounts I moved them as necessary to match up with the 64's dimensions, I was fortunate to discover that they didn't need to be changed in height. The newer frame is "curvy" and raised the needed amount for the front to align. I was able to cut the 94's off of the outside of the frame and place the 64's mounts onto the top of the 94's frame rails and slightly to the inside of the rails, they fit perfectly. This picture shows the 64's radiator support, which holds the entire front clip, and the 94's front frame horns before i started modifying
