You can also put some of the 4R70W hard parts into an AOD to beef them up a little. That's a worthwhile upgrade. And Lentech makes some pretty killer valve bodies from what I've heard

How else is he gonna drag race with it?

If he wants to drive his truck hard, let him.

I do however agree that the shuffle is not particularly wise if you care about the longevity of the trans.

Seriously, don't.

By shuffle are you meaning?

I am not into drag racing. More showing off fast from a stop sign occasional burn out those things. None of the intense horsepower stuff.

It's just a way to manually shift the AOD from 1st to 2nd.

It's usually done on old Mustangs for drag racing.

I was actually kidding when I suggested that, it's pretty stupid.

I have no interest in any of that stuff. A 17 year old isn't too rich yet. It's not my dd yet I've got another jeep for that

Also,
Would you know where I can find the paint codes for your truck? That just happens to be the color I'm going to be painting mine in about 6 months.

Thanks

Mine's technically a different body style.

I think 88LX5.0H has a Bronco that's pretty much the same colors but the same body style as yours, he'd probably help you out more.

I don't know the codes but the red is called "Bright Canyon Red".

Very nice I checked out his photos and love it exactly what I'm looking for. I just love the late 80s early 90s look. Of course I wouldn't mind the pre 78 small fords but that might take a few years.

My Bronco has been repainted at some point so I'm not sure if the colors are exactly stock. It's exactly like the stock scheme so I'm hoping they repainted it the same colors as factory. I'll take a look and see what I can find. Color codes could be on the door tag, right?

In this ad from 1987, it says the colors are "Bright Canyon Red/Colonial White"

1987 Pickup Ford Truck Sales Brochure

Boy I wish my truck still looked like that.

I think the red and white ones are just beautiful. I see my truck looking like that red in very soon.

Damn it's cold out there!

Well crap my door jamb sticker has pealed/ripped off where it would give the paint codes.

Sorry man, maybe this will help:
