My truck almost always starts a regen at a stoplight about 2 miles from the house. (that way I can enjoy the raw diesel smell emanating from the tail pipe ). Never enough time to complete the cycle! Other than being annoying and killing my fuel mileage, no ill effects. A tow with the 5er always cleans things up!
For me, turbo lag is always more obvious during cold weather before the thing warms up.
Thank you for the information. This is all a learning process for me. The more information I can research, the better off I am.
However, who was it that said, "Too much knowledge can sometimes be dangerous......"
LOL
Thanks again Bro
Here is a link to the Edge Edge Products| Product With the new Edge software you can start a regen event manually while the truck is parked in your driveway, but your tailpipe should be pointed away from things that melt or catch fire. Ive used that feature a couple times already when I just don't want to drive to clean exhaust. It is a little loud as the cooling fan engages and RPMs go to 1500 for the duration but it gets soot % down to .98 on my truck in 10 minutes.
In the above link, Edge only lists the vehicle specific parameters (PIDs) for the 2011 6.7L Super Duty. Are there any differences in the PID list for the 12, 13, and 14? I am considering the Edge CTS for the truck and transfering the ScanGaugeII to my wife's car. Thanks!

Works fine on a 2012. I've had one on mine since it was new.

That has to be the most well monitored DPF that I have ever seen!
I've since changed the load PID to post DOC EGT2.
For awhile I monitored all of the EGT's. Doing that I noted that the heat loss through the SCR is outrageous. Too bad they didn't place the SCR after the DPF like they did on chassis cab trucks. I'd bet you'd see less regens, and when you do, they'd be shorter in duration.
Yep. EGT3 is about useless to watch. I am currently monitoring EGT1, EGT4, Boost, ECT, Load, DPF Soot, DPF % and DEF Level. I usually get bored with DEF level and swap it out for whatever the PID of the week is. I really wish Edge would give us rail pressure!
