2002 cold start issues

She's alive!! Was 34 when I tried starting her.. It had been about 20 or so hours since she ran.. And my GT told me the oil was 60! But she fired up good enough, and stayed running the whole time.. I did notice a diesel leak.. When I first noticed I crawled under my pickup and it looked like it was dripping from the passenger side valve cover.. Idk tho I'm hoping/thinking it's that drain from the fuel bowl.. I'm gonna look into it a little more and probably change out those O rings. How exactly does that drain work If I opened and closed that thing a couple times would it leak out enough to leave me a little puddle?

If it was only a couple of quarts low, I don't think it was really your issue. It would have to be a lot lower than that to cause a hard start/no start issue. The fuel bowl lever you used to drain the fuel is notorious for leaking. There is a kit to rebuild it and I am told it isn't too bad of a job to do. Guzzle is a poster here who has a site, dieselorings.com, that sells the kit.
