Hey Guys, I've done a seach but couldn't find anything like what I have. My 97 will start, but it idles like it's going to come apart. If you turn the key and give it gas it will idle fine after a few seconds.
It does it cold or warm, it doesn't matter. It used to be intermitent, but now it's every time I start it.
I've changed the fuel filter and drained the bowl. I've also checked the batteries.
Lately when I start it cold the battery gauge bounces back and forth until the glow plugs kick off. This just started...
Any ideas would be great (and well appriciated) Thanks in advance...Bentonmike
it sounds to me like you decribe cold start romps. next time it does it unplug the icp sensor, if it smoothes out then that is the problem, if not try starting the truck in neutral to see if it is smooth, might be a trans switch
Have you cleaned the Fuel Pressure Regulator Screen?
It almost sounds like you're running out of fuel at low RPM. I'd look at the screen and possibley a fuel pump going out.
Especially if it's gotten worse over time.
