Hi Guys, I was wondering what you guys think my problem is? I drove my truck today and parked it for 30 minutes or so..I came back to start it and it would turn over fine but a real faint rough idle..this went on for 15-20 cranks..gave it a rest and then turned it over and floored it 3-4 times and BAM! it started and ran just fine. One thing I might point out is..the last 2 weeks when I start it after it's warm there was just a tiny bit of delay when I turned the key, I'm talking a real tiny hestitation that I noticed that your average person wouldn't..I'm kinda ****..lol Any thoughts what this might be? I'm out of work and can't afford to take it in unless absolutely necessary. My truck is a 2001 with 83k..original plugs. It's running perfect but I dont want to be stranded on the road. Any input from you guy's would be much appreciated. RH
If the fuel filter hasnt been changed....do so.Unless you are getting "codes" its gonna be hard for anyone to help you out here.If you are getting codes, post them.Reply,s will surely follow.
not much info... i assume if you let it set overnight, it starts up fine the next morning when cold? If not, your fuel pressure is leaking off. If it starts up fine when cold, then your related to the "hot start". Is this a one time problem, or has it reoccured ?
Cold starts in the morning have always been normal, it was only yesterday that I had a hard time starting it after it was still fairly warm.I have never cleaned my MAF or IAC...do you think this could be the problem? thanks....
