I want to use my F350 crew cab with the 8' box to transport my mini-backhoe. The tires on the backhoe are 2" wider than the measurement between the wheel wells. How can I gain the extra inch on each side that I need? The truck has 235/80/ 16 LT tires.
An inch or 2 on each side shouldn't be too bad especially with 80's. Are you going to cut them and re-weld them, cut them and leave them out or just sledge hammer them into position?
You should probably rename this thread "I Love My Truck But Not As Much As My Backhoe"
Many of the small tractors have wheels that can be reversed to widen/narrow the track. Can yours be reversed and if so, are they at the narrow width. Regardless, I would still use a trailer as that truck may be overloaded with the weight plus WILL be damaged - unless you don't care.
