Anyone watch the Superduty pulling the semi up the hill in the new episode of Gold Rush tonight? I love it when I see Ford's doing the real work.
I usually watch it but didnt catch that episode. I still remember back about 1 1/2 years ago, after school, I seen a 2000s 7.3 dually pushing a loaded school bus that had broken down. It was pushing it with ease. It went over the overpass with no trouble. Now thats built Ford tough.
They also pulled a Jet Plane with an F-150, Ram 1500, and Toyota on wet pavement. The F-150 pulled it around their "track" around 30 seconds or so faster than the second place winner: The Ram 1500
Sure it can be done and is all the time, I've done it. BUT it's not like shows like that one and several others, ice road truckers comes to mind aren't sponsored by Ford and set up situations like that on purpose. Ohh wait, yes they do.
IRT is clearly sponsored by Ford like Ax Men by Ram, but Gold Rush actually blurred the Ford Emblems and only briefly allowed a couple glances at the truck. Top Gear also had other makers doing things, just not as impressive as the Ford.
