towing spectacle

The other day I saw a Ford Superduty Pick up Truck pulling a full blown 18 wheeler off an exit ramp near a highway. Big rig must have broken down and the good ol' Ford was hooked up to it pulling it down the road.
Would anyone know what that 18 wheeler might have weighed? Do not know if was loaded or not!!!!!!!! Reminded me of that Chevy commercial - but we know that that can't really happen.

My guess would be 80,000# or so.

(must have had a motorcycle engine instead of a diesel to maintain legal GCWR )

There's a Superbowl commercial for you.

Think pulling an International?

Here in Austin in July, an Apache helicopter landed on an access road just off of a major highway. I drove right by the scene an hour later and there was a blacked out Ford Super Duty on the scene, probably with some National Guard mechanics. I'm told they had to tow the Apache off the main road, but I didn't see that part. I don't guess we want the terrorists to know that sometimes we have to tow our Apaches with SuperDuties, so I guess that wouldn't be a very good Ford commercial.

Blacked out? Could have been a SF vehicle. Though in the desert they prefer diesel Toyota crew cabs.

JW- Incredible!

JW,
And where exactly was the Digital camera when you could have really used it ??
I would have LOVED to see an Apache hooked up to a Superduty!!!

Empty tractor trailer is right about 35,000 lbs. A big load, not something I would try for any distance.
