Thanks. I do have some motocraft engine cleaner laying around, will that work in place of the carb cleaner?
I wouldent use engine cleaner, I was told to use brake cleaner for the Valve and Carb cleaner for the IAT2 and map connection to Intake, even though I did use carb on my EGR Valve and still running strong. Its to harsh for the O-rings I ended up replaceing the O-rings anyway.
Alright I am happy to say that everything is back to working order and all codes have been resolved! After finally replacing the broken stud and putting the EGR valve back in everything is running great and the smoke is gone!
With regards to all the gunk on the engine and hood, it looks like the techs my parents used to replace the oil were really sloppy. I have cleaned it all up and the engine is looking near new again! My uncle, probably the hardest guy to impress on the planet, was amazed at how clean the engine was. I ramble, but what my point is is that there is no leak anywhere, which is great.
I am going to do the rest of your suggestions as well Tim. I will research and look into the IAT2 sensor and the MAP sensor. Any tips or tricks for these two?
You have all been great and I wish I could rep you all more than once!
You can pull the EGR Valve and clean her up ( use Brake cleaner and a Plumbers Flux Brush to get inbetween the discs, (try not to get cleaner on the Electrical side of the Valve), also pick up the O-rings and Gaskit just in case the old ones are not good from ford. Its OK to drive the truck may not have the response ,Clean the MAP nipple that goes to the Intake and IAT2 senser they will be gummed up as well
Those two parts are easy to pull and clean aswell, look in the Tech folders if you have too , the MAP connection to Intake the threaded nipple gets clogged up the MAP it self will be good, IAT2 senser as tim described has two wires and the ball senser is attached I use a plumbers flux brush and carb cleaner .
OH Ware your Safety Glasses that stuff burns like
Paying it forward for all the help that I received here on FTE and Tim Thanks Tim
Finally cleaned everything and it is back to perfect condition! Thanks again guys!
