whats the difernce between a 85 f150 box and a 89 f 150 box?

From what I have beed told, exactly the same lines, just different wheelwell openings (fender line)

 

Fender flares and i believe the tailgates have one or two differnt body lines, but its only cosmetic differences.

 

The wheelwells, taillights (both cosmetic), and I think the t/g mechanisms are significantly different. '87-96 t/g trim panels (optional) cover almost the whole t/g, but earlier ones show some paint on all 4 sides. '87-91 have a red reflector stripe, and '92-96 have a smoke stripe.
