So is it the gauges or the sender in our trucks the are getting the bad rap for being inaccurate. 'cause I have some high oil pressure if I go off the factor gauge. It is near the "A" and the "L"
on the gauge.
Of course I would rather have high oil pressure then no oil pressure! Seal are still good, don't know for how long though.
I am alos course about water temp as well since I hear people talk about the 460 heating up real easy and would like to keep this pig for awhile. I hope she doesn't break the bank for gas.
i rebuilt my 460 last year and it is around the a & l for oil pressure when started so that doesn't sound too out of whack. i put in a new OEM pump at the time. it drops after the engine heats up to about straight up. if yours doesn't move after warmed up i'd be a little suspicious of the sending unit/gauge.
i've had the truck coming on 3 yrs and in all that time i haven't had any temp issues w/stock pump/thermostat. course i do live in alaska...
Varnish, that sure helps to keep the temp down for you : ) wish I lived up there.
the oil does drop a little bit but not much. do they make high output oil pump for this motor?
