So I'm changing over to blade fuses on my 79. I'm not sure what size wire to order . The truck isn't at my house so i cant measure . Also how accurate are the haynes manual wiring diagrams?

They suck. As far as I can tell, some times they include options and some times they dont but it seems to be random. It'd be better to head over to Fordifications at this link, and get the diagrams you need.
As far as your wire size...is there any reason you wouldn't match the stock size? are you re-wiring, or just putting in a different fuse box?

Like I said its not at my house right now. I'm putting in a new box.
Each circuit has wire sized to its needs. It varies. Don't understand the question??
You pretty much answered it. I wasn't sure if every wire was the same coming out of the stock fuse block. Guess I will have to wait and measure what sizes I need.
Wow love how negative you people are . Just wanted someone who has done this before to maybe recommend a size they have used. I won't be posting how it turns out, since all your going to do is pick it apart.

Having owned a '74 highboy, I can say that the factory fuse box, after all this time, is probably due to be replaced. Going to blade fuses is probably the best thing you could do.
If you do go ahead and exercise some initiative, I'm sure many here would love to know how it turns out. It's going to take some work, but would sure be a worthwhile project.
Sometimes, you need to push through the negativity to get what you really want
If you're only putting in a new fuse box, what's the new box look like? Does it have a pigtail already, or does the box have lugs that need to be soldered onto the existing harness?
